I was told they were. The mechanic i talked to suggested them as an alternative.. I was also told you need new brake lines and cables. That all comes with the kit from Harley at $250. Then another $250 to install them. Debating on buying the only cr left in our area, but would have to do something with the bars. Let me know how it turns out!!

| OK, Depending on how much I like the new bars or the pro tapers I will let you know.... They make my right hand fall asleep after about 30-45 mins of riding but the position is very aggressive on this bike so its a love/hate kinda thing. I love the sporty position and the great cornering but the comfort on long rides sucks! | |

| I love the raised bars on my CR. I've had the sport bike bars for years and the raised bars offer a great option. | |

Well I did the High bar install today... PITA! the kit comes with the bars, longer throttle cables, longer front brake line and longer clutch line... routing each of them sucks esp the throttle cables. but after 4 hours i got it all done and adjusted just right. Also flushed all the brake and clutch fluid over to dot 4 super blue race fluid!
The new feel Is awesome, much more upright and quick feeling... I only got to ride home from work a few miles but will be doing some good riding this weekend... Will update with pics soon. |

| Thought I was buying a new bike with the higher bars.... so was not happy when it was delivered yesterday with the ace bars. You would not believe what I am being quoted for parts in the UK. The dealer I got the bike from quoted £380 for the parts and 4 hours labour at £80 per hour to fit them. I did get a better parts quote of £225 for the parts from another dealer. I leave you guys to the maths £ to $. Think I'll get the parts from the US and fit them myself. | |

First time here in the forum. Just purchased 1125CR in Oct. Like to install the oem tall handle bar kit - but not smart enough to find the end or how to get to the end of the throttle cables? Where can I access the cables? Pictures anyone? Please help. Yes, I am too cheap and don't want HD dealership to dick me around. Thanks.

You have to remove the riders seat, then the air box cover then the air box its self to get to the throttle end of cables.
Here is where they attach:

Great pictures. Just few more questions if I may? What resistor do I need to buy? And why do I need this resistor? I am used to take the cable out and put a new one in - don't know any resistor? What happen if I don't remove this resistor? Would I do better wheelies?![]()

LOL, the resistor is for a completely different issue than the high bars...
The 1125's had to install a solenoid that closed the throttle at a certain RPM in 3rd gear to pass noise standards... if this solenoid kicks in while your riding its scary and dangerous! Most people will either disconnect the cable from the solenoid to the throttle linkage, unplug the solenoid or like I did remove it completely... The resistor plugs in to prevent a check engine light from coming on. Here is a great write up on the removal: http://www.buellforums.com/forum/showthread.p ... This link has a very detailed write up, It is from another Buell site so if I violated any terms feel free to delete it and the OP can PM me for details. |

| Oh... just an fyi... some people have said that the newest ecm flash versions will remove the solenoid feature so you don't have to worry about it. I took mine out anyway. | |

| its for all years of r and cr. you either need ecmspy or the osb tuner and the connect cable to pull the firmware yourself or you have to take it to a dealer. | |

| xtreme6669, I have been reading about this air intake issue (from other buell site). Few last questions, did you feel the smoothness of throttle (especially at low rpm) after you removed the cable and solenoid? After you removed the cable and solenoid, do you have to adjust any of the throttle cables? Thanks again for the help. | |

I didn't notice a difference in the throttle pull or smoothness.... no need to adjust the cables after removing the solenoid... it dose not effect the normal throttle operation
p.s. sorry for the late response... |

Installed the bars and denoided- LOVE thenew riding position- Hey I can turn my head!
I hear ya extreme, the clubs would be better at the track. The only drawback to the bars IMO is the wind. But that aint no biggie. |

| Installed the high bars and like them. personally, one more inch would have been perfect. I put the 1 inch lower pegs on and i hear they are making two inch lower pegs. | |

| oh-forgot to mention- my wires to the front brake switch are definitely too short. At full right, one of the connectors pulls off. I freed it up as much as possible, but its just too short. I'm gonna whip up some extenders in a few minutes. | |

Just mounted the tall bars and I love them.
Had a bit of a problem getting the throttle to return in the extreme left hand position but otherwise no problem |

Yes, I have the same problem. What you need to do is, unhook the throttle cables from the throttle - striaght the throttle cables - make sure they not twisted - then re-route it without too many bends. That should do it. Good luck.

Hi.
I think som of you have been ripped off by your dealer. I just signed the papers for my 1125CR and am getting the higher bars fitted by the dealer. Here in Norway the 1125CR comes with the higher bars as an accessory when you buy the bike. The dealer does not pay for the higher bars as they come with the bike. This is also mentioned in a test a norwegian MC-magazine had of the 1125CR... |
