So I bought my 1125cr from a guy that got it on a trade and knew nothing about the bike. It is immaculate condition with race ECM and d&d exhaust, but the guy I got it from has no idea if the stator and rotor were replaced or not. I've done a lot of searching and just want to reassure some stuff. I've been riding the bike a lot lately. When I start it up it runs fine battery voltage on screen quickly goes up to 13.8-14.2 and fluctuates between 13.6-14.1 staying around the 13.9 mark. However, occasionally it will go down to about 12.5 but then climb it's way back up. Sometimes when sitting at a stop it stays about 13.7-14.0 other times at a stop it goes down to about 12.4-12.9. I brought up th manual and found how to test the stator and when my dm was on It read 0.5 and dropped to 0.4 in each pin. Does this mean my stator is shot and I need a new one. Bike just rolled over 6100 miles and is an 09 1125cr. Here is my picture, am I reading It wrong or what? Sorry I'm a broke college student and hoping for the best haha thanks in advanced for any information.

I believe I see the HD charging system fix on there still. "Generally" this would be un-done if/when the stator/ebr rotor replace the stockers.

I saw that video, it was looking good once I saw those wires but just wanted to make sure. Should I somehow cover the plugs that will be left unplugged? Or just leave them?

So after freaking about the .4 reading I realized I didn't test the dmm before hand to see if it read 0... It in fact read .3 so when I tested it and my dmm came out .4-.5 I'm really getting a reading of .1-.2 which is in spec by the manual. So I did the Harley unfix as stated above by mope and a tps reset. Let it idle for 10 minutes took it for a little cruise. At idle bike didn't go below 13.9 the little trip down the road it didn't go below 13.7. I think/ hope I'm in the clear now. Thanks mope for the reference.

Sry, maybe I didn't go into enough detail - there's tons of existing threads on stator testing and volt readings so I won't go down that path since it's out there already. That harness was a recall for the original equipment that cut one phase of the stator to slow overheating. If you have original stator/rotor, you should probably keep it on as it prolongs stator life(ish). You will have different running volt readings if harness is in vs. harness being off.....obviously.

Unfortunately, only real way that I know of to determine if new rotor is in there is to crack her open and that probably doesn't make sense. The shop guys will know if HD can pull service records, but I did my own (as do many others).

Oh okay, so if I do have a different stator and rotor that is when I should do the hd unfix? Sorry for all the questioning it just seems that if if was the stock stator and rotor it would have went out by now.

yea - that's the normal sequence. Remove after upgrades. Some pple have 20k on original 09 charging system. Mine went out at about 6k miles. City commuting is not good for a system with overheating issues though......

Alright thank you, I did all the tests and they all worked out an everything was to spec so I'll just plug the fix back in and ride.

Watch that relay in the fix. They melt.
