    I swear I searched…

Just bought a '09 CR, my first Buell that isn't a Lightning! So I'm not familiar with the wiring…yet.

The short question. I want to remove the "Harley fix" harness completely. The stator part of it has already been unplugged.

    The long info.
The bike has the EBR rotor, stators been re-done, and a better VR is installed (non-shunt style) so I'm OK charging system wise.

    More info:

The PO had already unplugged the main (3 yellow wires and grey plugs) harness for the stator, but what do I do with the 2 other small connectors in that harness? One is grey with (2) 18g a black wires (that are grounded) the other is black with a 16ga grey (ignition positive) and 16ga grey/red wire (open)). They are in the harness to trigger the relay.

There is also a small connector that inserts into the Harley harness and connects the grey and grey/red wires together (for ignition positive on both leads).

To the best of my knowledge:
I can unplug the grey connector (small black grounded wires) from the Harley harness and leave it that way. (I can't find anywhere else it goes in the factory harness)
I can unplug the other black connector (grey and grey/red wires) and install the small grey plug insert to get 12V on both wires.
Then the Harley harness is removable. Right?

Thank you, Ya I saw that.

He just unplugs the stator wires and leaves the rest of the Harley harness in there. I want to remove the whole thing. I guess I'll be getting blurry eyed on the wiring schematic!

My HD "fix" on my 09 CR was simply installed in parallel with one of the stator legs. I only had to figure out which connectors/wires the harley harness was tied into on the bikes main system, remove the harley harness and plug the main harness connectors back to their OEM locations. No need to look at a schematic at all.

Total Harley "stator fix" harness removal instructions:

Unplug everything. 2 large grey connectors with 3 yellow wires. (Stator output)
2 small black connectors with 2 grey,grey/red wires (Noid)
1 grey connector with 2 black wires. (ECM)

Remove the Harley harness. (But save for now!)

In the factory harness you are left with:
2 large grey connectors with 3 yellow wires. Connect them together.
1 grey plug (black wires) tape up, not used.
and 2 black plugs (grey and grey/red wires) that you plug into each other (for the "Noid").

If your bike has the "Noid fix" you will only have ONE of the black plugs with the grey, grey/red wires because the other end is on the noid that was removed.
The Harley harness will have the resistor plug you need in IT'S grey connector (that's why you saved it!) take it out and install into your factory black plug (grey and grey/red wires) to avoid the CEL.

    WORD OF CAUTION!
In the factory harness. The GREY plug (small black wires) and the BLACK plug (Grey, grey/red wires) actually fit together. Do NOT plug them together.

I know. Lots of words and no pics. Sorry.
