How many miles do you have on your 2008 1125R?
And if you had any issues, what miles did they occur at. I may be interested in getting back on a 1125. I had my '09 up to 23,000 miles with 2 stator failures (One before I owned it at around 4,000 miles and the second after I bought it at 5,400 miles). If you want an example, look at my profile, I have everything listed about my cr in there.
I pretty much want to know how many miles you have on your '08 1125 and if you had any issues with it, what were they and at what mileage did it occur. I want to get an idea on overall reliability of the 08s vs my 09 cr (minus the stator issue). If it looks good I may look into getting another 1125, just an 08 this time. Sorry if my first post was a little confusing.
That's as of last night, I rode it a little today. Early problems were cluster drain & dead battery, clutch weep (4x) and water pump early on, prior to 15k miles. Nothing major or noteworthy since then.
Thanks Dean, I kinda knew of the ic issues from other members, but from what I understand most of them are taken care of. As for the weep, I guess all that it should take is a new clutch case and the ebr actuator? Pretty much what I'm looking out of my next bike is something that I can get 50k out of, on top of the mileage the PO(s) put on it. I have 3 options in mind within my price range.
2008 1125R (will probably convert to CR or a Uly/1125 monster)
2006-2010 Uly (depending on reliability)
and 2007-2009 Yamaha FZ6 (not the fz6r)
Ebr clutch fix and it should be good.
I have 11000 miles on my 08 1125 so far the cluster and clutch weep and tires a few times now :)
What is that plx device ?
It's a wide band O2 sensor display. It's actually capable of displaying up to 32 devices, I only have 2 connected though. It will do pretty much anything you want, oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, egt, O2, etc.
At the time I got it, it was the best fit. If I had to do it again, I'd probably use a pair of MTX-L's like what I put on my XB9.
