| I love the Buell Blast for it's simplicity. I scored mine for $2500 and that's a good deal for this motorcycle. I know they're not big boys like the XB9 and XB12, but I beat the crap out of mine and it's always ready to play. | |

never riden a blast. wouldn't know. a stunt blast im sure has performance upgrades. How bout a bone stock blast? i could ride wheelies on my '79 honda 50 mini trail when i was 8 also but that ant a street bike. there are a lot of street bikes out there that dont have the power to pull up the front. I know my pig of a Harley wouldn't till i put some serious bucks into the motor. now it will.
anyway i guess my "silly question" was answered. no need to respond. dont mind me. (jerk) |

I pulled a 12 oclock my first time twisting the throttle on a Blast, so I know it can be easily done, and have done it several times after that - lol, a V&H with jetting is hardly a performance mod and Bubba Blackwell who stunts Buells also stunts a Blast with that and a trick back footrest behind the seat for standing tricks - those are the only mods to an otherwise stock Blast with a cool paint job. And as for stranger than the Blast - Buell's most reliable bike - dirt bikes for me is as weird as it gets - lol

thats what im sayin
you dont want to use your front in the dirt too much or it will washout. but on the pavement you dont use the back hardley at all. |

Yeah - I do the dirt thing like twice a year to learn more about it and be better able to handle dirt on the road, however, neither of my bikes really have ever needed the rear for control on the street, and using the rear in the twisties can be a very bad thing - lol

Damn, that is one burely looking Blast.
Hey, they arent the most powerful bike, but with the gas prices in California the way they are, This bike is kicking ass. If I ride it alone, all 145 lbs of me, I can get 100 mpg on this bike. |

I think some of the best key things you can do to this bike involve the carb - including a new trick developed from the Dirt trackers for carbs - if you up your Blasts power delivery - enough umph - then you end up working from quarter throttle for a lot of your in city stuff, so then you want to increase your quarter throttle response ability -
This is suposed to do just that with no negatives to the top end - I'm thinking about mounting one in the stack extending into the carb - you can do a lot even to a stocker to increase throttle response. EZ's Stock bike Mods: 1)Drill a 1 1/2" hole directly across from the first hole of the stock exhaust on the same side as the stock hole but all the way to the right of it. 2)Rejet 45/170 (some years will have 170 stock - some don't) 3)Shim needle to 0.05 - 2 #6 machined brass washers is close. 4)Do the air box - mild or wild - still keeping the basic look though. 5)Drill air-screw plug out, and bottom screw then turn 2 1/2 turns out. 6)Do primary adjustment - preferably sound method. Six simple things to increase the delivery of power on a Buell Blast - making it even more of a Blast to ride! EZ |

My 2000 P3 Blast runs in the cold!
It isn't very good on ice. It will be my "rat" bike. All weather, providing I can keep it upright in the snow. yodaqual/Rochester NY |

| Right here dude. I'm new to riding, (under 10k miles since summer 08) but everyday this poor ass college kid can get on the city loop run +80mph deal with traffic and still get 56-70 mpg (Say that Mr. Busa). So we're not able to go over 150km/h stock, however, we ARE able to be HARD and learn wheelies the hard way drop N all. This is my first Blast, and I can't say it will be my last. I can say for any (I mean any) NEWBIE this is the safest most cost affective and just a Blast to ride! So get out there and have ONE. BuellFink - EAZY rubber side DOWN! | |
