nice, maybe put a nylon spacer on the back side of the under tail, then install the break/tail light...the outcome, all three bulbs are at the same length extended through the housing, just a thought
this is what i started out with. just a quick shot of everything being used other than 1 or 2 minor details that appear later. i tried to get the part numbers and brand names as visible as possible, but my mobile sucks so at least i tried. all items pictured (other that the factory housing back half, which is not used) i found at my local AutoZone, the bulbs are all plug&play LEDs, and total cost is in the area of only $35!
just a few simple reference shots of what i was dealing with as i eyeballed everything out.
this is a "universal" sidemarker/blinker socket with the plug&play LED blinker with 4 diodes. bulbs were around $12 for the pair & sockets where about $4 each after tax. and as you can see, they needed a bit of trimming as i do not have a steady hand with a dremel. i must admit i am way better with a pocket knife lol
finished product both front and back. everything is trimmed down and lined up as best i could get it. on the back side you can see the copper tabs from the cracked factory housing have been soldered onto the connection points for the taillight socket and the brass ends from a broken set of factory blinkers have been soldered to the wire ends of the new blinkers. i think it looks like hell because i always think i can do better, but for a first try i think they look pretty decent. and they work! so im happy with it lol.
just a simple visual reference shot from the front with an old red lens. i will cap off this DIY project with a clear lens in time to come, but i did this one so everyone could see how it turned out.
and this is when it all went wrong!
as you can see in this final pic, the overall height of the tail/break bulb is an issue when being mounted on a flat flush surface. im not sure yet how i will fix this problem or what i will use, but im a redneck...we find ways lol. maybe with a newer model clear lens there will be more room on the inside to allow a better fit without having to fabricate a 1/8" spacer, but if not at least i dont have too big of a gap to cover. at this point im just waiting to get my hands on a clear lens and see what i have to work with from there, but any input y'all can give me between now & then on the spacing issue would be helpful.
will be taking pix of final install and lighting ability tomorrow and will have them up asap. at this point it is all rather straight forward from here. hope y'all like it so far!
ride safe y'all!!!

well guys, all is said and done. and i think i found out the hard way why no one ever talks about sebimoto on this forum...i got the undertail mounted, lights wired in (also found out the hard way load equalizers ARE needed for the blinker, thank god i had a pair layin around), and everything was all manner of peachy-keen save for the small lip at the top of the tail light area...it just doesnt fit that was $60 for what WOULD have been a slick looking fiberglass undertail, $48 for shipping from the czhek republic, and about an hour of tryin my damnedest to get everything, including the bolt holes, just right! will post pics shortly, but needles to say after i found that the lip was short and the curvature was wrong, i gave up on the rest...im sure i missed some minor detail here, but i checked the fitment to the tail section both on & off the bike and everything lined up perfectly. it was a tight fit and the overall curvature took a minor amount of convincing, but it still fit fine about a month ago! makes me think that there may be some kind of damage to the subframe, i sure hope not, but it makes me wonder...
i think this one pretty much says just about everything that could be said...
great output on the LEDs, considering this was with no lens at around arms reach away in broad daylight.
so disappointed right now...i dont think i will be recommending (or ordering) sebimoto items any time soon
lights look great, too bad about the fitment to the frame, is there any area in the under tail you can shave to close the gap and conceal the reworked area under the rear seat plastics?
unfortunately no :( been trying everything i could think of all day after work and ended up putting a small crack in it from how hard it is pressing against the OEM tag bracket mount. i dont want to cut the tack mount out, and after a bit of double and triple checking measurements, it would give more allowance for the curve but the length of the lip would still be just a bit short. im thinking im just gonna give up on it for a bit and resort my options...there are a few fiberglass repair & fab shops in town due to all the boast and personal water craft on our local river, might just end up taking this & my factory plastic undertail to them, brain storm a bit, throw cash like candy at a parade, & see what we can come up with. kinda dont want to do that because it very well may end up getting expensive super quick, but after all this, im almost willing to test that theory lol who knows, they may even be able to just re fabricate the entire piece with a bigger lip and flatten out the curve of it a bit for around the same price...aint but one way to find out!
