Okay, just saved up enough cash to buy a new seat for my XB12R. Do I spend the cash ($260) on the Corbin, or just go with the Buell ($150)? If you have either one of these, please give me your thoughts.
Thanks |

I have the buell touring seat on my bike right now. While it isn't bad, it is good either "for me anyway".
I'm 6'1" and the seat adds about anoth 3/4 to 1 inche more height to your position. So for me it put a lot more pressure on the wrist. On the other hand, my knees are more straight now. Which definately feels nice as well. As for the seat's comforte. I would give it a 6-7 out of 10. While there is noticably more foam in the seat. The foam is still the same as the OEM one. Very very stiff compared to other types of foam out there. So after awhile it feels like i'm sitting on rock again....
This is only me though. Others, ive' read, enjoy the seat. So you might like it. As far as corbin, I don't believe i've read anything bad about them so far. Except customer service isn't all that good. |

Corbin prolems for me, I tried to order one and did, but 3 weeks later no seat for my '06 xb9r. I called and they said they could not guarantee fitment, so give me my money back. I was pissed and said there was no difference, but they wouldn't budge. The woman I talked to really pissed me off. I would think that it's more comfortable, but guess I won't be getting one.
Good luck with them. |

I have the Buell aftermarket seat and compared to the stock seat it is 150 times better on long rides. I'm 6'2 and notice very little change in riding position. But this is me.

| I called to order my seat...said it would take 4 weeks to build. Since I live in shitty Michigan, I am just going to wait until winter to order it. By the time it got here I would almost be putting the bike away. Sooooo, I will update this when I finally order and receive the seat. | |

| My latest thorn has become the seat issue as well. I have had a couple of Corbin seats on other bikes and have mixed reviews of them. What I really like is the degree of customization that a Corbin offers. There seemed to be some confusion in some of the posts. One potential buyer was told they do not offer a seat for his '03. Thought this was for a 'Bolt but seemes from the Corbin site that it would have been for a Lightning. The Corbin site has the pictures/fitament mixed up and that could have contributed to the confusion. I am guessing that the 'Bolt seat that they offer will fit my '03 XB9R. I would really like to see some Corbin seats for this bike that have been ordered in 'custom' surfaces. The Buell seat looks fine to me and I think that $150 is pretty freakin cheap. Was funny to watch a couple of these go through EBAY and bring the full retail price. | |

| whoops... sorry Joshs74nova. Seemes that was for an '06. I now see the problem is that Corbin does not build for 'Bolts after '05. Did the Buell seat mount change for '06 and up? Would a stock seat from an '06 and up not fit on my'03? | |
