When I am at a rolling stop or coasting and release the clutch I am experiencing a clunk as the clutch engages.  This just started happening. 2500 miles on the bike, checked primary chain tension and oil level, both seem fine. Any other thoughts?

Any noises when coasting and changing gears with the clucth "IN"? (Down shifting) Or only when you release the clucth?

Only on the release of the clutch.  Almost feels like my old sport bikes when the chain was too loose. That is what led me to inspect the primary chain.

Hmm, yeah, I'd check the clutch plates also. Not sure why it would engadge so rough though. It seems it would not release or drag if that was the issue.
Really would hate to think it was your transmission...does it shift okay, up and down without problems, hard shift, jump out of gear? I doubt this is the problem though.
I just read through a bunch of the manual and Im stumped, not totally sure what to say..sorry, and good luck. Let us know what you find out though.

Sounds like something the dealer should look at under warranty, before it gets worse or leaves you stranded.
