Well I finally got to do an extended ride in heat today.  Rode for about an hour in varying conditions, highway, rural back roads and traffic .  I got home and pulled out my trusty IR thermometer and took a quick reading on my exhaust.  Reading around 200~230 f.  The thermometer in my butt said it was much cooler.  This is the result of a Special Ops under seat thermal blanket, ceramic coated header, open air box and race ecm.  Not sure which had the greatest effect but it was in the low 90's today and I have to say I was as comfortable as one can be on an air cooled bike.

I just got my Firebolt a few days ago and soon found out about the heat. My right calf gets real hot and the seat gets awful warm too. This is at 80 degrees. Tell me about the thermal blanket.

I had mine ceramic coated instead of wrapping.  High Performance Coating(http://hpcoatings.com/) does an excellent job and offers black or polished aluminum finishes.  I think Al at American Sports Bike offers an exchange program as well.  I got mine done in the aluminum and am very satisfied with ithttp://www.buellxb.com/buell_images/530_20080429173514_L.jpg

Nice, cant go wrong with ceramic pipes...they look freakin awesome I think. Mine are wrapped, but if I had the money at the time I would have had mine coated. Both methods serve the same purpose though.
