I have had a Jardine RT1 pipe since Feb. and my chin fairing bracket has broken twice in the same place. If anyone has had this experience with these problems let me know, and how you fixed it. I welded mine once and it broke again in the same place. This is the bracket that holds the chin fairing on, on the right side. Im guessing this is a high heat and stressed place on the bracket. I have been thinking about making something that is adjustable and forgiving under stress but doesnt break. This is a crappy pic of where my problem is.

I haven't heard of this happening before but your best bet is to wait for LeFox, and BPG to chime in. Speaking from a metalworkers viewpoint. The bracket is not of a high grade metal, welding it just stressed it out more. A temporary fix to a permanent problem. Think band aid on bloody stump... Perhaps you should stop the bleeding by replacing the bracket? BPG can hook you up with the item number. Any chance the bracket made contact with the road at some point? Just wondering...

One more thing...wire weld or stick weld?

Wire feed... No, it has never touched the road. I think it puts a lot of stress on it when ever my wheel leaves the ground. I might just have to go stainless.

Sounds like the way to go. Let me know if you replace it or go with a custom piece, I'm interested in knowing how it turns out.

yea, the bracket has a weakspot there.

make sure you check your muffler at the front, cause this is part of the maintenance issue posted in this
jardine review.

Well, I gave the bracket to my dad to weld with some "missile rod" which I guess is suppose to be the Sh*T. Go it back last night and it looked great, got down to bike, bracket level and realized that he welded the freakin thing on upside down...lol. I'll be dropping it off tonight.
It should do the job from what I understand though. It looked to be fully melted and fused.
