I've never tried it on my Buell, but on other (Japanese) machines all you have to do is remove the switch and then hook the wires together (ok, you do have to tape them up, tuck them out of the way, etc., but it's still simple).

I don't think I have a kickstand sensor. If I do, it doesn't do anything.

It will shut off the bike if the sidestand is down, you have it in gear and try to release the clutch. You can still start the bike with the stand down as long as the bike is in neutral.

All bikes have to have them, it is a safty thing. If there is not one then it has been removed. When they go bad the bike just will not start, period.

i have an 07 firebolt that i bought brand new. the sidestand switch worked when i bought it but it doesnt now. so i think your info is bad "When they go bad the bike just will not start, period." mine still runs like a champ, with the kickstand down. i have told my dealer to order the part several times so it can be fixed when i come in for something else but as of yet they have not. its kinda dangerous.

What's going on with this post? The later models obviously don't have a sensor!! ???
Mine is an '06 and it starts and drives the same whether the "jiffy stand" is up or down.

It will start with it down and in "Neutral". Riding off with the stand down can be pretty hairy when you take that firt left hander.

my bike is an 07, it had a sensor when i bought it, but it went out before i had 1k miles. and im at 12k now, still doesnt work but it runs fine. so i believe the newer models have them, i think its standard on any new bike.

Well guys only '03's had them.
drunkinshooter, basic electrical testing will tell you which way to remove it if you want.
If the switch open the circut when down, bridge it
If the switch closes the circut when down, cut it

Hey B.P.G.,
regarding this kickstand killswitch.
I have one boxed. But it's told to be for either a S3T Thumderbolt (i think maybe the M2 Cyclone and Blast also - bad memory .
Well, i never bothered to try installing it to my XB as it seemed it was not designed for this bike? Do you know if these killswitch devices are same for XB as for the S3T?
Thanks!
