just wondering what might be needed to put the newer brakes system on an 07 xb9 if possible

Yes it is a very simple swap.  Buell actually sells the kit to upgrade it with all of those parts included.  I have been thinking about it myself.  That and get Brembo pads and wave rotors!!  That would drastically help the braking system.  I don't think they brake as well as jap bikes do though.

Different size piston in the master cylinder. You need the new brake line due to the new master cylinder and caliper.  Different fluid dynamics with a different size piston.  I also believe the banjos are different.  I haven't seen a kit yet, so I can't tell you for sure on that one.

The kit is on www.buell.com right now to upgrade to the ZTL2.  That is why I said there is a kit for it.

Does the wave rotor alone improve breaking?  I thought it was for style alone.

No it will definitely improve braking all on it's own.  It releases more heat and makes the bike stop better.

Got a wave rotor (braking.com) and has improved braking alot. Havent had any fade at all, not that I got much with stock rotor anyway, Just warpped it instead, I ride the shit outta my 9s and ASB (american sports bike)sell the 8pot caliper conversion kit aswell.
