A friend of mine just got an '03 XB9R not long ago and has a problem I figured was a neutral switch gone bad.
Problem: Bike starts only with the clutch in and runs only with the clutch in. The moment he lets the clutch out even in neutral the bike shuts down. Am I right? The only thing I dont get is that the bike neutral light lights up when its suppose to but that doesnt seem to matter.
Thoughts and ideas anyone...

Quote: Kickstand switch?
I dont think that would cause it...because in neutral the bike would run regardless. I think its more a mechanical problem. Whats the mileage?

I was lookin at it and found out he switched the battery out for a new one and somehow grounded it out and had blown 2 fuses. Which turned out to be the problem. He did just buy it and took it home in his truck. I have noticed a few problems but havent had the chance to really go over it with him. Plan to this weekend, and teach him some basics about it. I think its got about 7000 miles on it.

I know..lol. I actually have about 6 or 7 different Buell manuals in pdf format. One just so happens to be his bike so I figure I'll burn him a copy.
