07 xb9r running ruff.

Hey, what's up party people? I'm new to the Buell world... Anyways, I just bought a 07 xb9r and it's running ruff. I'm not sure what the exact maintenance procedures are. It has 28,000 miles on it. After I took possession of the bike. I did a quick check. I found that the air box was completely masked off (with masking tape).
Can anyone tell me what the basic maintenance procedures are??? Pretty please???

I noticed that the bike has a really cheap Chinese battery. Could that be it. Either way i'd like to do a "tune-up".

Make sure the battery is fully charged to start and replace plugs. Probably the best thing to start with. That's what fixed mine from running rough when I bough it
