This has happened for the last couple of days:

I have a 2005 XB9SX.

I turn the key to 'on' and the gauges (speedo and tach) don't 'jump' the way they do normally.
The 'idiot' lights are on normally.

When I start the engine and ride the gauges just lay there flat and then after a few minutes they come to life.

The first time it happened it was just the speedo.
One time it was just the tach that didn't work for a minute.

This morning it was both. After maybe 2 minutes they sprang to life.

I thought maybe it was the cold or something (?) but it has also happened in the warmth of the afternoon.

Any ideas or places to start?

I do have a full warranty still - should I take it to the dealer?

Just take it in and let them worry about it.   Thats what a warranty is for.
