I bought my 07 12R a couple months ago and Im just about to the 1000 mile mark. So lastnight I was showing a couple of people how it sounded to I ripped it past the driveway twice for about 200 yards. When I pulled back in my headers were glowing red! I just wanted to see if anybody else has dealt with this or if I should be concerned. Thanks in advance.

I left my 08 xb12r warming up too long once and my headers were red. Right about 1k miles also. Just breaking in period is my guess, with all the extra friction.

Ive got my bike in for the 1000 mile service right now and they said that they havent heard of this before so they are going to take a look at it while they have it. Who knows how far that will get me though. I will keep you posted

I was stuck in some traffic leaving a race track the other day for about 15 minutes, my fan was whining and my header was glowing. I have 1600 miles on my bike
