    hello all,

I suck at introductions... just putting that out there.

long story short, I bought a 2004 xb12r a few months back, with around 32,000 miles on the clock now. shes a little rough around the edges, but she ran when I bought her. she still runs now, and a lot better than before I might add, however im having a little trouble ironing out all the creases..

I am an auto service tech, so I did all the things that make sense, plugs, wires ect. it made a small difference but never really fixed my driveability issue. I have gone through the entire bike so far, every sensor tests fine, everything seems to be within spec. so this leaves the only other place for error. the ECM, which also happens to be a race ecm. (keep in mind the bike runs ok, just not perfect)

I went to ecmspy website and signed up, downloaded their software ect, then I bought a cable from amazon. this cable came with its own aforementioned version of ecmspy, which I installed and used instead. , which brings me to my current dilemma.

I cant find a tuner guide for this apparently older version of ecmspy.
everything works, the bike responds, I even did a tps reset,

my driveability issue seems to be when cold. for the first 1-2 minutes after startup, she seems to idle fine, nice and steady, then almost as soon as you think it may run well today, it starts to lope really hard, as if some sort of cold start enrichment has taken effect.

once it warms all the way to op. temp. and starts reading from the 02 sensor, it all seems to smooth out again.... also, I fooled with the cold start enrichment a little, it seemed to high to me, and it seemed to smooth out a little, but the engine was up to about 125*C by then.

am I wrong to assume its the ecm's cold start programming? mind you that I have scoured the internet for weeks now gathering any and all common issues of these engines, i.e. intake leaks ect... I am almost certain its a programming issue.

questions are welcome, friendly advice even more so.

    -ray

better yet, does anyone have a duplicate of the cold start enrichment table, so that I may compare mine to a known good table?

As an update, I went ahead and purchased the latest ecmspy software, and have full connectivity with the bike,
I noticed that my afv was 90.3% when I hooked up for the first time. I assume this is subtracting fuel from the tables?
Also, I adjusted my cold start enrichment and other associated tables to produce a less lopey idle, but I still feel as if its running iffy. My initial cold start enrichment at room temp is at 145%, it seems to like it up there. Does this seem high?
I have read some of ecmspys tuning guide, and I get the feeling that its geared more towards bikes that are running properly in stock form, of which mine is neither.
I feel as if I had a solid starting point, I could get something done, but I just can't seem to figure this out..
