(this is for my brothers bike)

When we turn the kill switch to on, normally you would see the cel on for a couple seconds, it turns off , then you can start the bike. however the bike he just picked up does not do this. So out of curiosity I pulled the fan fuse knowing that will turn the cel on. But on his bike, the cel still does not come on. has anyone ever had a bulb burn out in their dash? can I replace it? or did the po disable it somehow? I just want to make sure thats not the case.

My initial thought is the cel light bulb needs to be replaced.

what ztied said. if it in fact is the bulb then remove dash cluster, flip it over and remove case screws and open it up. you will see all the bulbs and trust me...they are tiny. be careful with lense and needles when working on cluster.

My buddy just got a '03 xb9 that has the same thing happening, I'll have to check the bulb for him. On my 12 it stays lit up while the injectors prime (5 seconds), so I told him something must be up with his.
