Well as you can see my old bike is now my Mock-up bike, and in pieces. But it will also allow me to show step by step what I am doing. So enjoy the pics as they come in here is a quick tease. I tossed on the Scg tail and mounted the Ss swing arm with the stock R shock, which should give me just the right height I want in the end.
All of the oil lines will need to be redone since they are to short, and I found that I will be able to simply use the front brake line from my mock-up bike for my new bike to account for the stretch in the swing arm. Any way here are a few of the many to come pics of the project. First I will post what I hope to accomplish.THIS
This is where I am with my new Bike.
And here are the horrid in progress shots Of my Mock-Up Bike.

Yeah it was just a bunch of piles when you were here but got a little motivated to see how much longer that tail looks with the swingarm yada yada yada. So now I am under way.
I am still waiting on the swing arm brace in the mail but otherwise I just need to get the oil lines made and then get all the metal powder coated and put it on. |

I am Very Happy with the "Stretched" look it is giving the bike.
But I am pretty sure I will have to either add a suspension bracketto lift the rear or do a tail lift to balance the height of the front fairing and the tail. Otherwise it will look as though I just bolted up the S tail. I am looking into making my own tail lift I know the bracket is nothing to make but the finishing cover piece is were I know I will get stuck, since I will want a perfect factory appearance. Also I don't want to spend the cash PM or Trojan-Horse want or their lift kits. |

FTW = "For The Win"
Here's a "dictionary" I've found handy since I've been on these boards. Gaming Acronyms Yeah, I know, I've lived a sheltered life.

lol sorry.
FTW = For The Win. An enthusiastic emphasis to the end of a comment, message, or post. Originated from the game show Hollywood Squares where the result of the player's response is expected to win the game. Bob: Your 1up t-shirt rocks Sally: 1up t-shirts ftw. |

Got ya, sort of like the 53337 number thing for computer guys but this one is for gamers.
Anyway went down to Aeroquip to get some new Oil lines made up. They are going to reuse the front fittings and hatd lines of my stock oil lines but custom make the rear to fit my needs on the '08 Ss swing arm. |

Forgot to Post a couple pics of my shortened Kick stand. The Scg stand is 1" shorter than the basic R stand so I shortened mine by 1 1/4" to make up the added drop from the Scg susp.
The second pic you can see where I pieced it together and welded the two pieces after cutting it down.

Here are my Custom Oil lines which retained the front hard lines of the stock line but lengthened them to my needs, cost about the same as the stock ones but these actually work for what I need, glad I didn't even try to order the stock ones for the '09 swing arm since I found out they wouldn't have worked anyway.
Just have to wait on two 45 deg. fittings to come in on Monday and I will hopefully be able to tear down and bring it all to the powder coating shop on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. Also found that I didn't need any added length on the rear brake line since I am going with a lower stance and the stock R line has enough slack to make up for the difference.

Keeping with the 200mm, I don't want to have to modify the swing arm or do a chain conversion. 240mm is just not practical............ha.
I thought of the 240mm but one don't want to spend that amount of money and two I think it is a little to wide, maybe a 220 would look good but 240 is just a bit to big. Hopefully I will be all done in about 2 weeks. That is my target anyway. |

Well I haven't drop this project, just so you all know.
All the parts; swing arm, brace, primary, inspection covers, S side rails, and chopped tail are all out to powder coat. Should get them sometime next week. I am in hopes that I can get this all done by next weekend since there is a Huge Bike Time, like Daytona Bike Week, here in my home town of Muskegon but for 3 days and numbers estimated around 30,000 bikes and 90,000 people. |

Went the last two years and it is huge. I believe they are figuring close to 40,000/100,000 this year. |

Well here is the tail section. Went with the Satin Black, instead of flat or gloss to blend in with the bike better.
Hopefully the swing arm and primary will be done tommorrow which will be silver to match the stock swing arm and or frame.

Well here is the tail on the bike. Once I get the swing arm I will go back to the stock shock to lift it up a bit, which I have a feeling wont be enough so I will have to fabricate a mounting bracket of some type so the back doesn't look like it is sagging. Not sure if I like it or not yet, might have to grow on me. Leaning to the dislike so far but we will see what it looks like in the light.
I will post some day shots tomorrow. Enjoy
