I just bought a 07 xb9r and the air duct through the frame is solid metal the guys at the dealer told me that the older buells had a hole in the frame to allow air into the air box. is it possible to drill a hole down through the frame with out any damage

If I'm not mistaken, the older Buells didn't have the little screen behind the filler cap either. That's where the new ones breathe from. I'd figure it's cooler air because it doesn't have to pass near the motor.

I don't think you want to drill into the frame.. you might find some flammable material there
