d&d is most loud harley-like sound.
think micron sings more like a muscle car with the roar @ decel.
but there are alot to choose from and all have their special sound.
soundclips & video's don't do right by them.
best advise is go to a meet and listen

The Lattus pipe has that sound your looking for without being so loud that you have to wear ear plugs. Good luck finding one though.

Also depends on which engine. The Spec Ops on a 9 sounds incredible but on the 12 is just OK. I thought it sounded great until my wife got one on her 9. I switched to D&D and it is the most harley-like that I've heard but I have yet to hear a Latus or Micron.

I've got the Jardine Pipe as well, and it sounds awesome, one problem though, after a long ride, my ears are ringing, does anyone know about that sound limiter for them? does that affect the performance at all?

I have a D&D on my 9 and it sounds almost just like a harley, just a little more "mellow".
Loud as shit when you open up the throttle.

The Jardine exhuast tip insert to quiet them down a little does not affect the performance at all. I have heard some say it creates a small degree of back pressure but Im not thinking it would be enough to actually change a thing. No need for a TPS reset or anything either, th ECM will learn what it has to do make any small adjustments.
The Jardines are loud though, I had the same ear ringing problem for thr first coupe weeks, but funny thing has happened over time, its just not as loud anymore....huh?someone say something? I love my pipe though...especially in under passes and tunnels..

have you ever tried this?
i don't know with the newer model inserts, but with the old ones it did make a big difference and the bike was running too rich.
also, the pre-'08 model ecm doesn't learn by itself without tps reset.

Yeah, I guess I should have said that Jardine has a new tip. It has more holes in the tip, to decrease the back pressure. It actually comes with a screw in it for fastening also. You use to have to drill on the pipe and insert when they first started putting them out.
You are very right about what you are saying though LeFox.

I have a micron. It isn't too loud. Kind of quiet ideling. I like it.
One thing that bothers me about this system is that it isn't mandrel bent. The one tube is really flattened out but I think it can still breath ok. The system was on the bike when I bought it.

bigger cooling surface, more air movement due to hot/cold change which results in the air getting drawn out of the cylinder.
in short, the bend has its purpose

HAHAA, everyones just saying what they have... just download the Buell Exhaust Shootout.
http://www.americansportbike.com/
It has dyno runs, plots, audio files, spreadsheets, write-ups, etc, etc. that way you can make the decision yourself!!
plus this question depends on the size of your wallet in the first place.
