so i bought a race ecm k&n air filter and the BUELL DIAGNOSTIC SCANTOOL SOFTWARE
USB-SERIAL PORT ADAPTOR COMBO

i will admit i am not the best mechanic but i thought reseting the tps was easy with the software that came with the diagnostic tool for the price it would be to take your bike to a dealer and have it done you could get the diagnostic kit and do it your self. i think this is better to because if you ever have to reset the tps again this kit more than pays for its self when you add up cost from a dealer. the only problems i ran into was geting the kit to connect to my ecm every time, sometimes it took a couple trys but other than that everything went smoothly

Yep, got the VDSTS a month ago. I just like hooking it up to the bike and checking stuff out but the TPS reset is very easy.

So does the kit come with a book or something to walk you through the adjustments.etc? It would be nice to have I think if it told you all the parameters you have to stay in to adjust how lean/rich it runs, etc. Im just afraid of screwing everything up somehow.

it comes with a cd that has guides on it, if your looking to adjust your fuel maps i dont think it really says much about how to do it. but if you just want to install the race ecm and reset the tps it is very easy and it has the details listed step by step

as lefox suggested i should mention  a few minor problems that i had in the process about 5 min after i got everything done and riding arround i lost my gauges and the bike began to run poorly. i was reallybaffled by this, like i said im not the best mechanic but then i checked my fuses and found out the one for ignition blew so i replaced it and reset the tps again and it runs great. reseting the tps is extremely easy to do as long as you follow the direstions. sometimes i had to try to connect to my ecm a couple times before it would work but with a little patience and some computer know how i feel that about any one can complete this project there selfs  http://www.buellxb.com/buell_images/1914_20080603090622_L.jpg
