Ya I was looking at that and then they have the kit you can get with the ecm and all the tuning software for it or from what I understood you can get the tuning software and cable and the communications box for 500.00 and then send them your ecm and they will calibrate it to the software... I would really like to get one. If anyone buys one let us know how it works

I am wondering though... i know xopti is working on a free download that will tune 1125's and new xb's so is there a real difference in what he is doing and what the ecm and tuning software from ebr, or will they be basically the same thing

The xopti materials are just spreadsheets to translate the hex values of your eeprom into decimal values that are rearranged into a pattern that makes sense (i.e. fuel maps, timing maps, diag bytes, etc).

You change the decimal values, the sheets show you which cells to edit in your eeprom, and then you burn the eeprom to your ECM using ECMSpy or OSB's COM utility.

There's more that's being worked on, but that's all I'm at liberty to talk about for now

Haha ok. i was wondering if it was like the OSB materials i have. does the tuning software that comes with that ecm tune the bike then or is it the same thing.

(drooling for 09 spy). I've got ECMSpy. Just need the maps and cable.

thanks taylor.  can't wait to see it.

taylor, i have a 09 xb12r, let us know if you feel or notice a difference with this new race ecm..

OK i got the new EBR racing ECM now and i took it for a ride. i noticed it idles higher and faster like its getting more fuel. under high throttle it pulls harder and may even have a tiny bit more RPM than stock. i have the drummer pipe on so it always back fired, now on decel it still back fires but its a different sounding back fire. so if your triying to get rid of popping buy the $750 tunable ECM. altogether for $250 im happy with the ECM because of the power. ill have a dyno done on it tomorrow as long as the weather holds. now i havnt put much time on it yet but when i have more info ill let you all now.

Don't forget to TPS reset and do the learn in ride. You may have to adjust your idle. And keep in mind the race ecm is made for staying up in the high rpm range.

...still waiting to see ECMSpy maps...
$200+ is a lot of cash when you have a $20 budget. LOL.

I have the ECM as well in my 08 XB.  Much better with my KN filter and Drummer SS.  I bought the 750 one will have it tuned as soon as the snow is gone.  So far I have no regrets.

So that tuneable one comes with a software CD right and then do you just load that onto a laptop and can you tune it on a laptop
Posted:  06 Feb 2010 21:12 [?]
Yes, and the software key. It comes with the base XB 12 race tune and you tweek it from there.  It is the same tune as the plug and play version.  I instaleld the ECM did a TPS reset and it fired right up.

So does the software that comes with that, does it act just like ECMspy for the pre-08 bikes? Or is it like the Ohio Sportbike software where you have to go into ecmspy and change the hexadecimal values then burn the eeprom to the ecm?
Posted:  07 Feb 2010 00:58 [?]
To tune with the EBR software, does it datalog or do we have to go to a dyno?

I used xopti to tune my bike. I used ecmspy with my mods on my 06 xb12r...open air box kit, breather re-route, billet catch can, special ops pipe, k&n and a little mod to my cover. For 99$ donation...cant beat what you get in return. Beats the 500$. I emailed my maps and got them sent right back reworked to my mods. I rode with my lap top in my backpack, hooked to my ecm and rode to the instructions and bam. If you need more help, Mike keeps working with you. Add another mod...need retuned, Mike works with you. It pulls so hard and revs so fast. I have roll ons 1-3 gear! I'm 6'3 195...I love my bike. Never getting rid of her.

Mike no longer offers tuning.

heads up on the new ECM. The bike was running strong for the first day but then started to feel like it was boging. I had a my friend dyno it and for some reason it lost 9 hp and 6 torque. im going to check my plugs tonight and do the TPS reset. I tried contacting EBR via email but no response yet. Ill fill you guys in when i know whats up.

08XB12R-
How is the tunable ECM treating you? do you still have back fire going on. My bike was running even leanier then before i put the Race ECM on.
Posted:  09 Feb 2010 00:28 [?]
Taylor: it shoul be running leaner with the race ECM. As I've said elsewhere a bunch of times, the 08+ bikes run super rich in most cells in the fuel map.

Would you do me a solid and read the ECM using ecmspy and send me the EEPROM?  I'd be really interested in seeing what the fuel map looks like.
Posted:  09 Feb 2010 07:58 [?]
so wait, the new race ecm is already giving you problems? and shouldnt the new ecm add more fuel?!
Posted:  09 Feb 2010 08:43 [?]
It should add fuel in a few key places.  When I tuned to my exhaust/FAST intake system, I had to remove a LOT of fuel in a LOT of places.  The bike came exceptionally rich from factory.  I assume the race ECM accounts for this.

Hey octopus this is Jeramy I sent you my eeprom a while back and I was wondering what you thought it looked like if you need me to send you my eeprom again let me know, my bike does seem rich in some areas though
Posted:  10 Feb 2010 03:28 [?]
Hey Jeramy, go ahead and send me your eeprom.  You never shot that over to me, only the OSB sheets.  Same e-mail.
Posted:  10 Feb 2010 06:39 [?]
i reset the TPS and it seems to run strong agian,. ill try and dyno the bike this weekend to show you guys.
Posted:  10 Feb 2010 21:09 [?]
No offense, but it's stuff like this that makes me think I'm on the right track by leaving my bike bone stock.  It runs fantastic.  I also cannot see spending hundreds of dollars for a potential few horsepower.
Posted:  10 Feb 2010 21:59 [?]
hah, well i cant disagree. on the other hand i have no kids or wife so what the hell else should i be buying? I guess i could just buy a faster bike.
Posted:  10 Feb 2010 22:54 [?]
I with you taylor. Keep us updated if it starts performing crappy again. I really want this ECU.
Posted:  11 Feb 2010 04:44 [?]
True dat.  I've got a wife and kids.  I'm lucky I've got a bike at all.
