It is SS
I have a question bout a bike I'm looking at soon. The Vin number starts 4MZJX.. It is a red (orange) 2006 xb12s.. Looking at other post in here I was under the impression the JX in the Vin sent it was a long. Anyone have any input on this or can help out?? Just curious
It is SS
I thought it would be.. I asked the salesman to look at the side engine cover.. He said it just said xb12s .. Wouldn't the long say long or xb12ss or something??
It should say "lightning long".
People often list them vaguely to attract all people interested in a "lightning"
Yes, and if you have a picture of the bike you can tell right away what it is.
Also the timing cove is a hard thing to gauge off of... Because yes it should say "Ss"
But if the oil pump gear was replaced or they had to get to the cams they could have messed up the plate while drilling out the rivets.
Paul sent me this the other day.

Almost any buell person will catch it Instantly but most won't take a second look at an ad like that.
I don't know..... Short list.....
the fact that it's five different bikes and three different models, three different exhausts... Pizza box license plate but world header...
That's not an s it's an ss the swing arm gives it away.
The ad I posted has pics of multiple lightnings. Among other issues.
