yesCan faulty relays cause this problem
Hi All,
So I had some signal problems... they would work intermittently from time to time... I have LED plus resistors fitted and they had been working fine for past 2 years until recently.
I decided to install a new flasher relay hoping it would fix the problem. Once i fit the new relay and turn the bike on, the ACC fuse will blow. I have replaced the fuse a number of times after checking this and that and still the fuse blows? If i remove the relay then turn the bike on the fuse is ok, but once the new relay is fitted... yep it blows!
I don't have my old relay to try anymore for testing I'm afraid. Can faulty relays cause this problem?
Has anyone else had this issue? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you!!!!

Ok... cool! Thanks.
Also i think i know what my problem could be!
I did not replace it using a 'electronic' flasher can, but i think it was a thermal one.... so when i finish work tonight I'm going to try the new 'electronic' one and see if that will fix it.
Ill reply later with my conclusion!
Ok, so new electronic relay is fitted and no fuse blowing!! Having said that the indicators don't work at all now. All other electrics are fine? I fitted original indicators and still no luck, Any advice please?
They light up but don't flash?
You need a timed or led style flasher.
Some where there's a part number that works really well .
Hopefully someone will chime in.
If they don't light up at all you'll need to test the switch
I don't have resistors on mine I used a new flasher relay ep-36 from pep-boys it must say 3 to 6 lamps and led on it and it work just fine. Get rid of the resistors they might be the problem. If you go Led use the ep-36 flasher, if you go stock lights use stock flasher ( no resistors.)
Thank you!..
Ok, so the indicators don't light up at all... just seem to be dead. As I'm using the rizoma LEDs i do have the resisters to manage the flash rate. When i tried the original indicators i naturally didn't fit the restisters and still they didn't work or light up.
The flasher can I now have fitted is as follows (using resisters and rizoma LED)....
3 PIN electronic Flasher
Load Sensitive
12 Volt
Load Rating: 2+1 (6) x 21 watt, 12v lamps.
If the above info is correct, then maybe it is the switch??....... I shall continue!
Thank you for all the help so far!.... THANK YOU!
