I just picked up a set of renthal low rise street bars and I am wondering what is involved in changing them. I know the grips have to be cut off. Then I loose the bolts on the throttle and clutch side brackets. Do they simply slide off and I put the new bars back on and reinstall them or am I missing something?

I first cut the zip ties that exist on the stock bars, easily replaceable. I then took off the stock grips by popping out the round black nubs on the end, then cut off the grip from the left side, and just pulled the right side off.

After having done that, I did the bolts for the throttle and clutch side brackets, once that was done I took of the main bolts on the bar and tada, off it came.

I installed rizoma bars and grips and bar ends from PJ's Parts

(I think thats the way I did it... may have missed the step that involved disconnecting the throttle cable before pulling the grip off)

dgp about sum'd up what I did.  Though I did drill holes in the new bar so the little peg lookin things would fit back in.  Those bars are great.  You'll really like them.
