LeFox, I took my scoop off I think it was near the end of last year or beginning of this one. I intended to watch it and see if the fan came on more often or not as it the outside temperatures rose, but I'm happy to say there haven't been any negative side effects. Looks better in my opinion. We had a discussion about aerodynamics and how Erik Buell and the designers are smarter than I am, which is true. But I was just putting this on here to update you and let others that might have entertained the idea know that I've had no issues. I'll post a pic later, my camera is charging.

good for you...but the lh airscoop is for the front cylinder
on earlier models (pre '06) it also flowed air to the airbox

but, as long as you're happy with the result and the bike still make you , i'm happy

KK, just wanted to put it out there in case anyone is interested in doing it, I like the little extra naked of the engine. Mines 07' lucky me.

Seen the scoops on the 1125CR? Those things need to go, or at least be replaced with something a lot less gay...

lmao...yea, hard to miss, really

problem is, you can't remove them...radiator doesn't work without them.
and a good thing is that they are solid and are a good protection for the frame & engine incase of a slider.

hmm, no removal? They need to transplant the Helicon engine into something that is More true to Buell... You guessed it, the XB12s....I'd upgrade to a 12 if it had that engine....

FIDOSOL, you just said you didn't like the radiator scoops. The Helicon needs radiators for cooling. The engine sits to close to the front wheel to allow a radiator in front of the engine, so they spit it into two and wrapped them with scoops to direct air through them. Good luck getting that in and 12s without scoops.

The RC51 had radiators on the side...so did the superhawk if I'm not mistaken.  And they didn't require open umbrella scoops in order to cool them.  They could have gone with the a better style of induction in my opinion.

Hey Dave, they didn't have to split it like that, part of it has to do with the way they wanted the overall design of the bike to be. They could have come up with an alternative, it looks okay on the 1125R, but on the 1125CR it's crap, detracts from what the bike should look like and represent as a "cafe racer" styled bike. I'm just saying, that they should have come up with an alternative, and I would be willing to bet money that someone else out there will come up with an alternative to the Twin Scoops of Doom.

Of course I don't mind.

Hmm, so there's room for an oil cooler, but not for the radiator? sounds like a load of junk to me...

don't forget that the scoops are devided in a cooler section and a ram-air section.

The Buell designers had to have loved this design or it wouldn't of happened. With all the money they have to develop products they could have made room for a radiator behind the forks. Or at least made the scoops smoother and more subtle. I wasn't siked on them when I saw the 1125R but when I saw the CR they were like BOOYAAH! In your face. That's all I can see when I look at that bike. In my opinion that bike looks like a half transformed Transformer.

I have to agree. Maybe it will grow on me over time, but for now it's not quite my taste. It's just not what I think of when I think of a naked sport bike. It's like getting with a hot girl that won't let you take her pants off. She's half naked and odds are you're going to end up with blue balls.

don't you mean Buell Balls?
That half naked transformer needs to either go all the way or go home...

I personally think the scoops on the 1125 are bitching, I think you will grow into them, Thats the thing about buell they always go a different rout.
