Scroll up...first pic...looks like a Supercharger to me.  But who knows
Posted:  29 Feb 2008 21:07 [?]
Well thats not a supercharger that is a wind tunnel or wind control valve but there is probably one under that.
Posted:  29 Feb 2008 21:08 [?]
That picture is just a air cleaner kit, not a supercharger.  Its called a Hypercharger from a company Kuryakyn.
Posted:  29 Feb 2008 21:17 [?]
Yes that is definitely just a Kuryakyn Hypercharger I had one of those on my old Cyclone.  It is throttle controled those butterfly valves open and close with the amount of throttle you give the bike.

yep, that's why i asked...

ok there are turbo's & supercharge available, not cheap...there's a post somewhere on here where i posted pics & a video of it.

there's a special (veeery expensive) supercharger on the lazareth bike:

and currently experimenting with an electric supercharger, which should be about a 10hp gain with a reasonable cost (and it's u.s. made )

yeah that is just a hyper charger. probably built a stack to the throttle body. i dont like those air cleaners any way.

Ewww....

That little thing on top of the air box will never give you 10hp.  That is a cheap thing built for cars that does nothing for cars.  It might give you a couple HP but not 10hp.

if your refereing to the first pic its a blower and im pretty positive it helps alot on cars for example lots and lots of drag cars run them
pretty sure it does a little bit more than alot for cars

This set up above is NOT a supercharger!!  It is a Kuryakyn HyperCharger.  Even the ones on cars that lok like this are not superchargers, they are just air cleaners.

This set up above is a custom fully functioning supercharger set up.  Helps power output.

This set up will hardly help output at all.  The ones they make for cars are a joke.  Search youtube for car and leafblower to see what I am talking about.

Check out the current issue of Cycle World!  April 08. They have a small article with pics of the Lazareth Lightning. Really cool.

Here is a link for another article on it too:

now thats a turbo set up!!! I have a t2/t3 hybred in the shop I have been looking at very hard for one of my bikes !!!!!!!!

I've been looking at putting a hypercharger on my bke after I seen some pics of it done. I don't suspect it will do anything for performance but I think they do look badA33! I'm thinking of going with the black one. Just don't know how the Hypercharger works. Does anyone know if there is a filter in side the unit it self?
Posted:  04 Mar 2008 15:53 [?]
Thanks BPG people just weren't understanding what we were saying about the hypercharger.  All it is people is an air filter set up and that is it.

Now that Turbo Bolt above is just down right insane.

And absolutely BEAUTIFUL to boot

more here: earlier thread

+ video

Yes the Hypercharger has a K&N style filter in it.  The butterflys are actuated by engine vacuum.

i was thinkin something along the lines of a ford probe turbo and a lil bit of custom piping will work sense a probe turbo only pushes about 2 or 3 lbs of boost you shouldnt have to do ne thing to the motor maybe a thicker set of head gaskets no biggy
Posted:  04 Mar 2008 23:11 [?]
Nj  That bike is smokin!  I love that.
Posted:  05 Mar 2008 01:18 [?]
the Aerocharger unit for Harleys (no different for the Buell) runs 8-12 lbs of boost and requires no 'beefing up' of the motor.
Posted:  05 Mar 2008 20:46 [?]
seems like it wouldnt hold up with that much boost but in one article the guy says somethig about a cam that they supply to run with this aerocharger for certain bikes which makes more sense im gointo look more into this because i am building a totaly custom street bike out of my 12r and i wanted to strap a ford probe turbo on it but now theres this and if its not all lies i will be purchasing one and will deffinitly send in a report of who what where when why and how
