last night when i was putting my race kit on i was looking for the air funnel in the frame that everybody always talks about removing.  well when i went to take a look the bottom half of the airbox has a delete spot where all of the pics show there to be a funnel.  i looked under the cover and there is no hole in the frame whatso ever. my question - is there something i over looked underneath the bottom half? do i need to completely take the airbox upper cover and the bottom cover off to remove something that is hidden underneath.  my bike is a 07 sx

No, the bikes newer than '05 dont have holes in the frame.  Dont worry about it.

if you want you can drill one

lefox is drilling a hole in the lower portion of the box going to make that much difference since there is no air funneling directly to that hole.  i can understand if i had some sort of ram induction leading directly to the filterl

sorry lefox i was just trying to make sure i did everything rite. i knew you werent talking about drilling a hole in the frame. btw that could serve two purposes more air and weight reduction. let me go get my drill.  ha ha
