My check engine light came on... so i took the bike into harley. They said the servo motor cable is bad and stuck wide open.. but it wouldnt hurt the bike. Im sure there is a post about this but I want the light turned off so that I know if something else is wrong, or to fix the problem. Can anyone give me suggestions?

Put in EBR ecm , puts a little more pep in your Buell's step and if the light goes off and the exhaust is stuck open that was all it was! Or you could shoot for one of Deans exhaust or a D&D!

You can turn it off with ecmspy.

I believe you could just disconnect the cable though.

yes. year and any mods if any would help.
03-07 xb12 disable IEV system with ecmspy
08-10 XB12 disable IEV system with tunerprort or ecmspy
replace faulty cable, clear stored ecm fault codes, check IEV system for proper operation
disconnect wiring harness from IEV servo unit and replace with emulator, clear fault codes.

it is a 2006. I took it in to the HD dealer and they took the cable off and turned the code off, but everytime I start it it just turns back on, just getting sick of riding with it on. Is it difficult to use ECM? I have a mac computer so im not sure if it would work. Im not exactly tech inclined.

take it back to the dealer, have them plug back into the bike, run ecmspy as it appears that is what they are using, and have them go to functions and turn OFF the interactive exhaust feature, and clear the fault code again.
OR purchase the XB exhaust valve emulator from either ebay sellers or american sportbike. google XB exhaust valve emulator and you'll see what it is and how to install.

Plugged in with techno research and can't find the interactive exhaust to turn it off. Cleared the light but stil no luck. Am I using the wrong program?

You can use a mac, but you will have to run parallels and put windows on it.

Do you have a cable? If so send me a PM with your email address and I will walk you through how to turn off the error checking for the cable. The dealer is just turning off the code so it will come back on every time.
