Hey guys/gals, I've researched this for a while but I've been unable to find any a really straightforward answer on how to tune my ECM on my 2008 xb9sx which has a hawk pipe and the K&N filter (ecmspy, tunerpro, something else???). I bought the cable a few months ago but just haven't had the time to really dive in. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreiciate it. By the way, I already emailed ERB but they were of no help :(

    Thank You!!!

Best way to do it is with tuner pro rt. I wish someone was of help with a good tuning walkthrough, especially for 08+ bikes. Unfortunately for us there are none. Mike Cobb is the go to guy for what seems to be everyone on the form for a good tune. Download tunerpro rt, search tunerpro rt setup on YouTube to get all the setup done, contact Mike Cobb at www.xoptiinside.com, pay like $80 for basic tune. I will be doing this for my 09 xb9sx in the next month. Good luck, hope this helps.

for what it's worth on my 2009 XB12Ss and my 2010 XB12 Uly i have K&N air filters on each and a drummer on the Ss and a Hawk with active power valve on the Uly. after a tps reset and purposeful 25 mile ride in "learn-mode" both ran markedly better. not to say there was a huge performance increase but both felt more responsive to throttle input and smoother fueling.

I wrote up a guide a long time ago on here. Easiest way is to turn off closed loop and enrichen the entire fueling map up around 5-10%. Proper way to do it is to install a wideband and tune each cylinder separately. Yet another way is to install somebody else's map and see how it runs. And the final option is to buy an EBR ECM and plug and play.

I can't remember where I got it from or else I'd post a link, but I have an excellent pdf write-up on using TunerPro.

Email me at sparky300atgmaildotcom and I'll send it to you

I should prob put it up to host somewhere :)

While TunerPro RT is a good option, I would highly recommend ECMSpy for Mono. You can datalog with the stock narrowband O2 sensor and/or a wideband and it will analyze the datalog for recommended changes to fueling. The user interface is much more refined than TunerPro and you are less likely to make a tuning mistake.

With the current exchange rate, the donation required for a copy of ECMSpy for Mono is only ~$70, which is a very cheap!

Thanks for all the info everyone!!
Sparky, that write up looks awesome. Unfortunately my laptop is down and my work one won't allow me to download programs so I cant work on it right away, but I'll report back when I get it going.

Ok, so i went and bought a new computer w/ Windows 8. I've been following the directions from the guide sparky sent me (its awesome!) but I am unable to get tunerpro RT to recognize my cable. Can anyone point me in the direction of which driver i should download or let me know if it will not work with Windows 8? I got this cable 6+ months ago but im not sure from where.

And you installed the cable driver to the Tunerpro folder per instructions?
