Any tips for getting that damn rubber strap back on the battery. I've already snapped two trying to stretch it into place. The tear keeps happening at the end junction between the metal bracket and rubber. Tight strap is one thing, this is absurd! |

| I've had the same thing happen to me, even ordered a new one through the local HD dealer thinking it was the wrong strap. The 08's have a longer battery strap. Long story short I now have an 08 strap on my bike. Perhaps there is a recall brewing with this problem cause they sure don't last long under all that force. | |

The strap is tight.
If mine breaks I'm going velcro. |

I took the seat off a few weeks ago to charge up the battery and surprise, surprise, the rubber strap is broken on my '09...
Need to get that replaced before riding season, that battery bounces around like crazy when the engine is running! |

| I heated mine with my wifes hairdryer and it helped stretch it out enough to fit with no problems. | |

| Pull it like crazy to its limit and then down onto the edge of the battery that is closest to the clip. You should just have enough slack to connect it, while leaving everything from the battery edge back to the attached end taut while you fiddle with the connection. It's a bear. | |
