I put on a jardine slip on on my 08 xb12scg. Typical engine light came on because of the servo being disconnected.

So this morning I hooked the servo back up but the check engine light still came back on. I disconnected the neg. battery cable but maybe I'm not doing the correct procedure to clear the light?

I'm sure its something simple but let me know guys!

Thanks Tyler

You can't clear the light by disconnecting the battery.  I think it's like 50 run cycles of 30 seconds or more before a fault will clear out of the ECM if the fault is no longer present.  Dealer or hook the laptop up to it to clear it out manually.

hmm, if i unplug my servo on my 05 12 i get a light, when i plug it in, the light is off.

either the connection isn't seated correctly or something else is up. your dealer, ECMSpy or VDSTS can read the stored codes.

Mine too...but usually to clear the light it takes 10min or so with the battery completely disconnected.

Dozer, Thats what i was thinking. I'll see what that does this morning since I disconnected the battery last nite.

Dealer is going to clear the code tomorrow.

Said should only be in there for 10 or 15 mins but for sh*ts sakes my dealers service department is a bunch of a*sholes.

Thank god its under warranty and free!

But to Monterey County HD.

If you didn't do the airbox delete, why even disconnect the servo? Yes, you would remove the cable, but you can still leave the servo plugged into the harness...

Better yet...

Servo Emulator

I got one you can have for free!!!  They are worthless IMO.  I bought one and it lasted for maybe 4 months.....less than 1500 miles.  My stock Servo has been flawless.  So I would say, dont waste your money on this, re-use your Stock cable and save some cash.

** maybe I got a bad Emulator, but im not wasting my money on another.....ever **

Sorry I havent been on the board in awhile but I ended up buying a used servo to turn my check engine light off.
I messed up the chip in my original servo when I took it apart so I could just have the plug and chip under the seat.

having the servo disconnected with the checkengine light on does not affect performance, of course you need to have a aftermarket exhaust .
