I purchased my buell about a week ago and I see a fuel low warning the instrument panel and a screen that shows F 0.0  I am sure that anyone can explain to me how the fuel warning works.I will really apreciate it.I dont want to run out of gas waiting for the light to go on.

My Uly light comes on at .6 gallons left. The numbers are miles ridden after reserve.

Must be somethung wrong with mine as when it comes on i usually ride for another 6 miles and fill up but i'm only able to put 2.7 gallons in everytime. I have the 2005 12S with the 3.8 tank so not quite making sense to me.

total tank capacity is 3.7 gallons (including the reserve)  the light comes on when you get under .7 gallons (.7 gals is the total of the reserve)

once the light comes on you should be able to put 3 gallons in, so 2.7 is about right.

ya mine does that too. when the light comes on it switches to reserve miles and i have drivin like 30 more mile and still only got like 2.5 gals it her to top it off

So does that reserve trip clock reset itself?  I just bought the bike tonight, with the fuel light on.  Filled up the tank, but the "F" trip didn't reset immediately?

An amber lamp in the indicator panel to the right of the tachometer serves as a low fuel warning lamp. This lamp illuminates automatically when there is approximately 0.7 gallons (2.6 liters) of gasoline left in the tank. When the low fuel warning lamp illuminates, the reserve fuel odometer (F-trip) is activated automatically when fuel level drops below about 0.7 gallons (2.6 liters) and counts mileage traveled after low fuel indicator illumination. The F-trip RESETS, after a 3-MINUTE delay, when enough fuel is added to bring fuel level above about 0.7 gallons (2.6 liters).

Just out of curiosity, how far has anyone ridden once the low fuel lamp came on? In miles or Kms? I"m always too paranoid to go any farther than the 1st gas station, but would like to know if its 30 km or 60 or whatever just for peace of mind....

well on my xb12r i have a comp exhaust and race ecm. was running on it pretty hard. (for a good reason ) forced to run past alot of gas pumps. and made it 32 miles before i was pushing it. so i would say 28 is a really good place to pick some up, cause pushing in race boots leathers and trying lay low...no fun
