there are 2 grounds there on my 09 scg using 1 eyelet for both.
Hello Gents,
With spring here, I'm working on the Buell again. At the end of last season I resealed my rocker gaskets, powder coated lots of body parts and replaced the fan. Upon completion, I've had multiple issues. For one, the bike doesn't start as I'm not getting a check engine light or fuel pump prime sound except for every once in a while (completely random). I also have a high beam light on the instrument panel that is "ON" when the switch is "OFF" or sometimes it just stays on no matter what. It seems to be a ground side problem/short. I've checked all the headlight harness and ground contacts in the back of the bike. Everything seems to be 'good to go.'
I wanted to verify if there is supposed to be a ground at the contact point behind the headlights on the frame of the bike as pictured below. As you can see where my finger is pointing, I have nothing there. I tore the bike down September of last year so I don't remember if that hole was used. I searched for an unconnected ground wire, but can find none. I'd appreciate any help you guys can provide. :)

Thank you for the info… anyway anybody can confirm my 2007 xb12s should be the same way? Asking even more, does anybody currently have their bike apart and can confirm where those wires are routed?
No ground wires that use that point on your 2007 model.
Thank you EricZ for the confirmation.... now I need to find what the heck is going on with this thing.
not to thread jack, but would adding a ground to this location on our older buells help with some of the grounding issues? i have a buell 2006 xb9sx for reference.
