I had the same problem on my 2010 XB9SX. Enough water got in the primary that the clutch bearing failed at 3000 miles. Water intrusion might not be a warranty item, but replacing a blown clutch bearing was covered under warranty. It would have cost $750 to repair.

Is there any trend as to this occurring with bikes of particular years or models?  I ask because one poster mentioned the problem stopping after changing clutch cables.

Not as I know of, but it seems somewhat common..Im pretty anxious to see how it pans out over the season (bearing problems) But as winnwtka they had to change his clutch!!

Winnetka, Did you find out you had water in primary before or after you blew your clutch? And did you have any minor problems before? ie shifting, finding neutral? or was you bike running just fine up until that dreadful day?
