Seems to be leaking from the top corner bolt holding the T-Rex bracket in place. I tightened the bolt a little with no success. Any ideas/suggestions?

All I can think of is put some rtv on the bolt threads and give that a try.

Thanks, I will try the RTV. This just strikes me as a randomly odd leak. The bolt is long and secured to spec. It was dry for like 4K, and just randomly started leaking. Its just hard for me to believe oil could travel through like 3 inches of treads. BTW, that is what it is right? Oil coming from the primary?

Thats the only fluid that should be in there, its most likely getting slung up there then drop by drop following the threads of that bolt till it finally reaches the outside of the case. But your right it is a very odd place to be leaking like that.

The gasket should seal all around the bolt so oil should not be getting to the threads or hole in the cover. Best fix is a new gasket, some rtv on the bolt may work as an easier option.

I put some Permatax RTV red silicone on the the screw today. I will let it set till tomorrow and see what happens.

Konarider, you said "the gasket" should seal around the bolt. Is there an OEM gasket that should be in there? What does it look like? Right now there is just a bolt in there, that I coated in the RTV.

Also should the threads reach to the head of the bolt? B/C the threads on the current bolt extend for only about half the length of the bolt. Perhaps I need to put a bolt with threads that run the length of the bolt?

I think Konarider was referring to the primary cover gasket. The gasket goes between the primary cover and engine case and circles each bolt hole. I dont think the threads have to go to the head of the bolt. BTW, nice clean bike from what I can see of it.

it's primary fluid. think of it in these terms: you have 2 mating surfaces with a gasket in between. at the precise point where the threaded fastener goes thru the mating surfaces are encapsulated by a perfectly round non-torn gasket surface. it prevents the fluid from hitting the fastener threads and wicking out onto the outer cover as in your pic. a dab of orange or black rtv sealant right in the hole....and a light coating around the threads.....and ram her home and torque down. let sit for 24 hours and wipe off any excess and the oil. it will be fine. everyone above gave you good info.

Lol, yea its clean cause I had just washed it so that I could confirm where the leak was coming from....thanks.
I guess I'll let the RTV set and see what happens.
