I was riding home from work today and noticed a rattle, then when i got to a red light about a 5 miles from work i smelled burning rubber. I pulled over and the cable that runs down the front of the motor melted because that little twisted wire that was supose to hold it in place broke for no reason and let the cable hit the headers...? Would replacing this be under warranty or not b/c I have read on here of the same problem..?
oh 08 xb12 scg.

i would try and get that done under warranty.
they know it's a weak spot and it's a bit soon for the clip to break within a year.
there's a new clip out to hold the clutch cable into place...thought they were standard on the '08s

They started putting them standard on the new XB12XT. They will be on all the 2009 models.
It is under warranty. Just make sure they order the new style clamp.

Lots tougher! I dont see this snapping anytime soon. Easy install, just bend the tabs a bit, insert clutch cable and bend back.
