Swivel and a socket, go up from the bottom between frame and header.
^ That and 12" of extensions.
And remember not to over tighten, they should be torqued to 72-96 in-lbs (8-11 Nm)
my fasteners are rusted what is a good replacement nut? stainless steel? or will that react with the existing stud material and seize???
Why don't they put lock washers on exhaust nuts? Does using a torque wrench with a swivel change the torque readings? What is the meaning of life? I am a warehouse of dumb-ass questions!
i have found that using a swivel on a torque wrench does make its operation inconclusive, frustrating really.
Watch out when trying to tighten it, it might have lost the retaining clip under the exhaust flange to rust. I had the same issue, and both of the nuts on the front cylinder were rusted shut...
I ended up having to drill the studs out and use a helicoil. I just want to give you a heads up so you don't spend a whole weekend on something you're expecting to be a few minute process.
i ended up replacing all the old rusting header fasteners with a new set of 'champion' brand brass manifold nuts,
i have got the first 3 on, guess which one i am finding very hard to get on? what a pain.
