| will the see-through air box covers with the xgaurd on 06 up xbs fit my 04 as a direct swap? if so why do they always say fits 06-up | |

| Yes it will. They are different styles, The new ones are vented, and the old ones are not | |

| No. The new bikes have vented inner airbox and vented outer airbox. Rain wont hurt it, just don't put a garden hose into the airbox. | |
