Question for you...

Is anyone running the new factory ecm map that accompanies the "Rider Comfort Kit"?  If so, what are your impressions beyond changes in fan operation?

Thanks for any input!

I like the ecm changes. I cant really feel a whole lot of difference other places other than the fact the butt and inner leg does not get hot anymore. Overall the ride heat has gone done a whole lot.

tseldon: read previous pages in this thread, there are pics all over the place...

baileycao: just drop by a Harley dealer and ask them for the "Rider Comfort Kit" ecm map? Do they flash for free?

Thanks

I had them do mine when they did my first service and they didnt charge for it on the receipt. I would assume that it would be free if you just took the bike in. And just tell them it came with the riders comfort kit.

Just completed mine.  The fan never even came on after a 20 minute ride.

My results are the same as Ronin1's.  Except that it was about a 100 mile ride, and the fan only came on when I stopped and turned the bike off.  It was about 67 degrees out, and when I'd ridden it at that temperature before, the fan was pretty much FT.  If you're debating about this mod, I highly recommend it.

and also will it fit on an 06 9sx? I think the header is aligned/shaped differently than an 08? Any help would be great guys!

Anyone?

They match as well as can be expected considering that the engine is asymmetrical. They look even when you are on the bike.

Ausxb,
It indeed is a Corbin as Dave noticed. Worlds better comfort than the stocker.  It's about an inch taller than the SCG seat but I'm ok with that even with my short-ass inseam. It eased my knee angle a bit also. I'd rather have comfort while riding than stopped since thats where I spend most of my time!

On a side note Juice and I went out yesterday riding, and while not really an apples to apples comparison his fan always ran longer than mine at any stop.  He has not done the right scoop yet.

Ronin, where did you get the heat shield for your headers? Fit a 2009 XB9?
Posted:  15 Dec 2009 03:07 [?]
MMCC, here on American Sportbike, I think it will fit fine.

I have an 09SS. Do I need the whole comfort kit? I've heard that the the underseat shield won't fit the XBSS's? Also, does the kit come with the header shield?

Has any one done the regular RS side scoop that came on the 2010?  To me it seems it may do the job and is the peice that was made for the bike?  pics?

Someone bought both but preferred the full size RSS

I doubt the under seat shield will work. The header shield will fit. If it was me, I'd just get the inner scoop and out scoop. No heat shields. You'll have like $65

Thanks Dave

Oh and you'll need 3 screws. 10-32 3/4" I think

Treyflee...I have the 2010 stock right side intakes on my 2009 Firebolt and Lightning Scg.  They have worked pretty well for me.  Seriously cut down on the fan.  Here are a couple pics of the Lightning...

And I've ordered mine :0 )

My wife has a 2009 XB12Scg and I ordered the whole "comfort kit" for her from American Sportbike for Christmas.  We tried to install it the other day and I can confidently report that the underseat piece definately does NOT fit on an S model.  We tore the entire tail section off to make sure, and there's no way in hell that it would fit, even if you trimmed it.  So we wasted a little money, don't make the same mistake.  Just get the scoop and/or the exhaust heat shield separately if you want either one.

Any one know if the new RS scoop will fit a 03 9s looks like it may to me...Tried calling HD/Buell dealer and they all thought I was on crack because I asked for the stock LS scoop and if they could order a RS....tried telling me my 9 never came with one
