so i'm driving home from motogp at laguna seca last night going 75mph

engine light flashes, i lose power for a moment, almost lose control then it happens again....

any ideas?

if i take this to the dealership, can they pull the code that was thrown or will that only show if the light stayed on and is still on?

The same thing happened to me and got me frustrated until I tore my bike apart. Just try cleaning your sensors on your bike, especially the engine temp sensor. It's right above the oil filter. That made my problems go away. Hopefully it helps.

.........I think it's the engine temp sensor above the filter, anyway I cleaned it on my 04 xb12s and no issues after that.

Yes, they can pull codes whether the light is on or not.  They store in a history on memory of the ECM.
