So I just bought an 07 firebolt 12r a week ago and am not sure if it needs any ecm changes. This is my first bike and I am learning everyday. I've searched a lot but I'm still not sure If I need to change any ecm settings. For things that may effect performance it came with a carbon fiber RSS ane Special OPS exhaust which retains the interactive exhaust thingy. Its in the shop now and I'm sending out the headers to get ceramic coated. No idea if the ECM has ever been messed with. If anyone can give me some info on if an ecm change I'd necessary or would help I'd appreciate it.

She seems to run okay with the pipe. I'm more concerned if changing the heat flow with getting the ceramic coating on the headers will require a remap.

Hook it up to ecmspy/tunerpro and look at the mapping. As for ceramic coating headers...that's not really going to affect exhaust flow. It may affect exhaust gas temps, but probably not enough to require a remap. I mean let's be honest ideally, any time you change exhaust, intake, engine you want to tune it. But 90% of people run generic tunes and are completely satisfied as long as it's not running too hot or too lean.

If you send me your map I can tell you if it's been modified or not.

I have yet to get ecm spy. Keep debating if I should. And not sure it I should go with Bluetooth or just a standard cable. A little worried I'll mess up the ecm even though I'm a tech person. I'm into tech but don't know diddly about tuning engines.

It's a useful tool even for not tuning. It is easier to read codes with and diagnose problems. I have the parts to build a few bluetooth dongles, just need to find time.

I never thought I would spend so much on this bike. So many cool upgrades. Not sure I want to spend 70 bucks for the Bluetooth for ecm spy I found but it would be nice to be able to use my phone. Otherwise you have to run a cable to a laptop in your backpack to datalog right?
