I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question but...   I'm wondering if anyone can give me tips on how to bring some shine out on my frame. It's an '04 'Bolt and the graphite paint (powder coat?) seems to have faded in some areas (hazy cloudy spots) and the whole thing has about the same amount of luster as my tires!

Does anyone have any good tips that I can try short of tearing this (otherwise nicely running) bike to the frame and having it blasted and recoated?

can't polish it since there's no varnish.

either
1. get the graphite spraycan and repaint it.
2. sand it down to bare metal and polish it completely.
3. have it powdercoated in any color you want.

Probably the best option to get the result you want, and you can prpbably do it all only having to remove a few things

*** will take alot of time, patience & elbow grease.  Plus you will have to keep polishing it as it will tarnish.***

This is the best but definitely not the cheapest  You'll probably have to get it down to the frame.  On the bright side, they have powder coats that look almost exactly like polished aluminum/chrome with that nice mirror finish, with far less maintenance.

A cheaper alternative I think would decals. Go to an automotive sign specialist and have any color vinyl graphic installed on the flat surfaces of the frame. U can even get a carbon fibre look.
