There's probably not going to be a "best" it will all depend on how it is adjusted (assuming the one you get holds it's adjustments) but methinks that hyperpro makes a good one I've only heard good things about it. Ask the guy that is selling his black one.

It sucks because every single one mounts on the side and they are ugly as all hell. Someone needs to make a triple tree mounted one like the jap bikes get.

Sounds like there's no perfect stabilizer. The side mounted ones look ugly and the bottom mounted ones hit the fenders.
I could live with either in my case as I just need it to pass the tech inspection at Bonniville. I'll remove it after the pass.
I'l keep looking for a used one.

No I am talking about the top mount ones. My buddy has a GRP or something like that on his CBR 1000 and it is awesome. They should make one of those for the Buells.

btw...
when doing a search...bombaymotors (Reseda, CA) is about 90$ cheaper.
although the buell one isn't listed, i think they should be able to get it.
so shop around...you may be able to get one for a better price.

How does these fit the lightning models with Crossroads Performance bars? I have a Bitubo steering damper (side mounted as wilbers, hyper pro etc). It is very very difficult to mount it when the headers of my Tiforce eats all the space (very much larger than original headers). There are room at the fork leg (for clamp up or down), but the fork leg is getting slightly narrower over the lower triple tree, that makes the stabilizer clamp not able to clamp (when i try to mount it higher). Also the angle become very very tight and the steering stabilizer body hit headers and the actual stabilizer rod - hitting your leg, if not mounted in perfect angle.
I understand this sounds pretty confusing when not seen, so if just summed up - It's probably way better to have one of these "GPR units" if they work with the C.P. bars.
I have my bike done with Penske 8987 shock and the Hyper Pro kit for the forks. All upgrades do deliver, the steering damper help voiding more of the wobble when hitting full speed and deaccelerating fast. I second what Foxie asked, anyone with a pic of the unit mounted?

The stabilizer has 20 positions, 1 being little dampening 20 being lots. I test drove it first on 5 and it was too much. I liked 1 and when I get use to it I may go to 5 or so. The faster you go the more damning you need. The GPR appears to be high quality, it mounts very well. I paid $500 for it (the price of a used Honda) and got it from the GPR factory.

I think this is by far the best looking option for the buell and by hearing what you got to say it sounds like the damper I'm going to purchase ($500 is pricey though). Thanks for the info Blackdog.

Looks nice!
Bikes that does not carry the original 21 degree angle can probably not use these since the attachement point might not work. The angle for the lever(arm) will be wrong and attachment point (in the frame) probably won't fit (looks like it anyway).
So, those of you that us Free Spirits trail kit (give the bike an angle of 23 degrees) should probably avoid this steering stabilizer.
