I did something similar with Renthal bars (higher than the moto-x style) and a 1" spacer. The net effect was the same as a 2" rise and 1 1/2" pull back. It worked fine on my STT.
Hello, I was investigating the aftermarket riser kit from Twisted Throttle for my '09 UlyXT. I recently added the taller saddle and really feel the need to raise the handlebars. The Twisted Throttle solution raises and rakes the bars 2". Has anyone tried this? I'm concerned I might be getting into major expense replacing cables.

I put on the Rox Risers and pretty happy with them. No cable replacment needed.
Rox risers are good stuff. Have them on my KTM 990 Adventure. Even when eating **** hard, they didn't rotate out of place.
rdkingryder, would that be the Rox 2" X 7/8" pivoting riser PN 3R-P2SSM? And did that fit on a Uly without new cables?

I have the Uly specific Rox risers on my XT and they made all the difference in riding position. No cable changes needed on my set up.
with anything taller than a 1in. rise i'm pretty sure you will have to do something with the cables (lengthen them). you can also try precision engineering, i have purchased 1in. risers and also the fat bar risers (which i'm currently using) from them. great quality, workmanship and price. check them out.

The only thing I had to do with the ROX 2" risers was take the clamp off the brake cable.
I didn't have to take the clamp off but there is no play left, that's for sure. I may do that anyway. I also installed the Madstad brackets, windshield and flyscreen and should have unclamped the cable. I may return the Madstad stuff as it makes me really mad the way everything flexes and rattles at idle. But that's a subject for another topic.
