G'day Buell Guru's,
I picked up a new XB12x last week, not knowing anything about them. I was actally looking at buying a Harley when it caught my attention. Any-hoot, I was told that fitting a scoop will assist with cooling of the rear cyl and hence reduce fan running time. Can someone please point me in the direction to how I can find out how much they are and where I can get one if they are reasonably priced? Cheers and beers, JED |

Putting in my 2 cents here...
I just added the right side scoop recently. I went out and ran her decently hard yestarday afternoon thru my local twistes for about an hour and it was around 90 degrees F here. The fan didn't come on once during riding or at any stop lights. It did come on briefly after I killed the engine in the garage, but that was literaaly for less than a minute. |

I have contacted every email I found and still have yet to find a right hand scoop. Short of getting out the glass and making one-can anybody help? FWIW-my hot running Buell XB12X ate its engine 2 days ago-themal issues. I lost a rod is my guess. The fan was on alot!!! and 2 HD dealers said it was all good.
Good luck with yours. marc msheltra@aol.com |

| I bought the right hand scoop and was pleased with its looks. I did not see any great cooling improvement on hot days with high speed long runs like I had hoped however. Buell seems to have got the idea and now they have one for the '10 models. Maybe its not as stylish as the left or aftermarket but it does seem bigger-maybe enough to do the job. I may change over after I see one. Florida is too dam hot for marginal improvements. | |

Here's a FACTORY RH air scoop. It might not look as good but it's a lot cheaper, and from the factory.
