HELP Quick easy question RE Throttle Body nipple

What, if anything goes to the throttle body nipple that is, part of throttle body adjacent to air horn, is parallel to / vertical just right and forward of air horn. I've tried to post pix not sure if successful. Finishing up a handlebar & throttle cable upgrade, before big trip to Nova Scotia / PEI, Cabot Trail etc.
It may just be Reference Air Port, but not filtered in any way.
Hoping someone can confirm / deny, it is just left open??

put a plug on it, that's where the California canister hooked up
