| I looked up which oil filter for a Buell 1999 Cyclone and found that fram or Super Tech 4967 was supposedly the correct one. Started changing oil and the 4967 is smaller in diameter and length. The gasket sealing area on the engine is larger OD and the 4967 will not work. Any ideas? I found that part number listed for my bike on several websites. Thanks for the help! Dave | |

doesn't the tuber use the fullsize sporster filter?
those look like the xb ones i use definetly smaller tubers use the napa 1215 or 1225 powersport filter same numbers as wix 1215 painted 1225 chrome plated I looked those up on napa pro link for a 99 cyclone |

| The Fram number for a tuber is: PH6065B That is the chrome motorcycle filter a couple bucks more than the orange filter. They are stocked at Wally world. | |

| I got rid of the regular syle an went to a scotts cleanable micron metal filter cost some money around 120 but filters better the a paper filter, acts as an oil cooler an has a magnet inside to show you any metal particals. Had it about 2 years or so love it. | |

| Whatever you do skip the Fram. Not a good filter. Wix is real good or NAPA (Wix filter). | |

Sorry to hijack your thread talon...
What is the issue with the Fram filters? Just curious because I've been using them for years on all my vehicles. If I'm on the wrong path, would like to know. |

| The Fram 3x or w/e filter is almost identical in all aspects to the Buell/H-D OEM filters. Same particle sizes get through and almost identical flow. | |

I sold Fram for over ten years and used them before I knew any better. They don't catch as many particles as some of the others. A good oil is only as good as the filter that filters it

Once i seen that bulletin from Dodge i never used one agian |

The fram filters are not very good quality, very low pleat count, by-pass valve open at low pressure. Purolator are one of the best least expensive, the walmart brand is made by them. I seen a video on them just about 6 months ago and will never buy one again.
