Hey Guys-

Newb here.  Actually got my 1st Buell home today.  2000 X1.

I am looking to buy a race ECM and the forcewinder intake but no luck finding them...any help?

Also is the XR-2 Force worth the extra dough over the original?

Here is a pic of the beast:

Congrats! You will love it. I have a 99 X1 and it puts a smile on my face everytime i ride it. You can either buy the Race ECM or use ECMSpy and load the RACE tune (fuel maps). This is what i use. ECMSpy also allows you to datalog, reset your TPS (very important) and also use as a scan tool. I know there is a dealer that always has Race ECMs listed on ebay, and forcewinder

here my X1

I've never known much about Tubers, but I have a new found love for them.

I think I need to get one.  My XB is money, but those x1's look SICK

pur pony, Thanks for the tips! And SICK bike btw!  I wouldn't have thought to go directly to force

So with the ECMSpy I am basically buying the cable to connect my PC to my bike and downloading a new mapping to the stock ECM?

I am not the most computer savy person but it sounds pretty straight forward?

Here is a link to the cable and program on eBay...will this do it for me?

It looks like you have a Vance and Hines SS2R on it already.  I tried the Bud Bad Dogs:  one work CRAP!!!  I went back to the stock header, K&N, and stock ECM and dynoed around 90 rwhp and ran great.  Wish I hadn't sold that bike.  It was a 00 X1.  The Force pipe is LOUD AS HELL so be prepared if you go that route.

I am gonna stick with the V&H it has on it.  Nice sound.  Just looking for a Forcewinder intake.

Just bought the Forcewinder XR-2 for $300 shipped.

So with this intake and the V&H exhaust is ECM remapping a must?

It is not a must but it will probably be prefered so that your bike is not running lean.  If you get the cable For some odd reason I have the x1 race map(never owned a x1 by the way) I can email you the map if needed.

pretty good deal on the forcewinder, i was going to say to make sure that you get a forcewinder or an hbbi for you x1 with the race map or you will be running rich. I had a K&N air filter in mine and still was way rich but is perfect now with my hbbi.

Thanks for the tips guys!

I just bought a cable to use ECMSpy but I think I might be getting in over my head.  Does anyone have a walkthrough for using the program.

I could not find one on here.

fordmoco89-

ever get ecmspy working?

boatsmiddy-

the seat on my bike is the buell select seat, i think thats what they call it. I bought it on ebay last year brand new.. its extremely comfortable compared to the stock seat. They pop up on ebay or badweb every now and then.
